Drums Aloud has supported a number of events and organisations, both through the sharing of the instruments which Drums Aloud own, and through the regular members and teachers passing on their expertise to enhance teaching in local schools and providing leadership or support for sessions to local education, care and charity organisations. Mike Tinsley is the primary contact for these activities and he has delivered the vast majority of these community engagements (as part of his role in Dudley Adult Education). Many of these events have a looser association with the West African content as compared with what is taught in the regular Saturday classes, but they still centre around the use of our West African percussion instruments.
